General questions using debugger on CASE Workbench.
Question:
I have an RS/6000 running operating system level 3.2.4. I am trying
to use the debugger with the CASE Workbench and am experiencing some
problems.
Customer is using SDE Workbench Debugger to debug
an XLC++ application that uses templates. When he tries to run the debugger,
he gets an error that says "Cannot read gen.file. ..."
Response:
This is a problem with using templates. To eliminate the error have
the customer take off the fastload dbx option.
To do this from within the workbench Program Debugger, have the user
select the Options pulldown menu. Then select the DBX Configuration option.
This will display the DBS configuration window where the user can toggle
off the fastload option located in the upper right hand corner of the
window. Have the user click on SET in the window.
The user will be returned to the Program Debugger window. Next have the
user select the Options -> Save DBX Configuration option.
This will write a .softdb file to their $HOME directory. The user will
need to exit and then restart the Programmer Debugger for this change
to take effort.
When they start the program debugger back up the gen.file error will
be gone.
