Response:
ENV: 3.2.5, R24
CUSTOMER REP: June Sakuda
PROBLEM: Customer makes nightly tar backups using the following
command:
\# tar -cvf /dev/rmt0 ./hmg/com.det
This backs up the data in that directory to tape. She wants to
restore the data to a new filesystem, /hmg2 instead of to /hmg.
ACTION TAKEN: I explained that she could restore it to /hmg2 by
using the pax command with the -s (susbtitute) flag:
\# pax -rvf /dev/rmt0 -s":./hmg:./hmg2:p"
ACTION PLAN: CWCA.
TEST CASE: N/A.
