0782-059 error when adding a print queue

 ENV:
        AIX 4.1.4
        Unknown model
        HP LaserJet IV attached via HP JetDirect card

PROBLEM:
        When trying adding a print queue you get:

        0782-059 Attribute name passed to subrouting piogetstr by
                program piodigest is not valid.  Attribute name is
                mD

        Tried adding a queue using another printer type (generic
        ascii) instead of HP LaserJet IV and get the error:

        0782-137... Error accessing ODM class smd_cmd_opt
                        ODM error number is 0.

        Checked your hostname.  It is lawson
        Made sure the symbolic link:
        /var/spool/lpd/pio/lawson -> /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local 
        was present.

        The ODM files /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local/smit/sm_* appear to
        be intact.

        Did a df and found /var was nearly full.  Increased the size
        of /var and were able to successfully add a print queue.
