Multiple tape output devices being created in AIX V3.1.0.

Question:

Multiple tape output devices are being created in AIX V3.1.0.  There
is nothing in the error log, no console messages.  What can be done to
resolve this?

Response:

This was a know problem in AIX V3.1.0.  Upgrade to AIX V3.2 was
suggested to solve the problem.
