When installing software, what does install ALL software really mean?
Question:
When selecting the following thru SMIT install, what does the ALL in
the upper left corner really mean:
Install / Update Software
Install / Update Selectable Software (Custom Install)
Install Subsystems (Selective Fixes)
INPUT device / directory for software /dev/rmt0.1
SOFTWARE to install [all]
Response:
If you go ahead and select all for SOFTWARE to install, it will
install all software on the installation media. If you select F4 and
a list comes up, the "all" refers to installing every module for that
particular group (section).
You will have to individually select all software that you wish to
install.
