How can I compare tape and /usr/sys/inst.images images?

Question:

I received a pre-loaded 3.2.4 system w/ install images in
/usr/sys/inst.images.  I also received an 8mm install tape.

How can I determine if both media contain the same images?

Response:

Use these commands:

  installp -l -d /usr/sys/inst.images

  installp -l -d /dev/rmt0

The second command requires the tape to be in the drive.  Nothing will be
installed.

You can redirect the output of these commands to a file and then
compare the file contents to see if the images are the same.
