ttys and printers not working after changing RANS on 128-port adapter

Question:

128-port asunc adapter and AIX 3.2.4. 2 RANS on 2nd line and 1 RAN on
1st line. Added another RAN to 2nd line. Then swapped lines so the 3
RANS were on 1st line and 1 on the 2nd. Now some RANS are defined and
others available and the tty ports are not working.

Response:

When you swap the RANS on the ports, all addresses for the RANs
change, so the tty ports that were previously set up will not be
detected at their previous locations. They must remove all ttys and
printers and the RANS from the system and reconfigure frmo scratch.

To delete ttys, printers and RANS, use:

lsdev -Cctty
lsdev -Ccprinter
lsdev -Ccadapter

rmdev -l tty* -d
rmdev -l lp* -d
rmdev -l sa* -d \<-- remove all ttys and printers before trying to remove the RAN

Then run "cfgmgr" which will redefine all of the available RANS on the
system and then setup the ttys and printers again.
