Many questions about ILS and Kanjii Support.
Question:
How does AIX support the Japanese Kanjii character set?
Response:
Japanese language is input via:
51 phonetic characters on a Japanese keyboard
26 Roman characters
Phonetically spell out the word or words, on screen appears not in Roman
characters but in hiragona(sp?) which are Japanese characters for phonetic
spelling. Then hit a key to convert to kanjii. Note that the space bar is
divided into 4 keys, a space -- notranslate -- translate - hiagona .
The translate software is part of AIX V3.2, there is no additional software
required.
You must set your locale, install the Japanese messages and set nls path.
