Problems with X-station 130 locking up.

Question:

I have an X-station 130 attached to a RISC 560. I am now using 10baseT
twisted pair ethernet cables. I was using thin wire, but now I am
using 10baseT. The problem started before I switched to 10baseT.
About every 30 minutes or so, my Xstation will hang, and the screen
will just freeze. This seems to have started "out of the
blue". We did not have any major changes prior to having the X-
station starting to hang. Do you know what might be wrong?

Response:

The hang condition that the customer is experiencing are most likely being
caused by one of two conditions:

1) Memory (DRAM) they only have 2M of memory in the Xstation, and the
customer did state they are receiving the memory management icons
    indicating a low memory condition.

2) duplicate IP addresses - make sure that no other equipment is coming
on to the network with the same IP address as the Xstation. This will
either cause a "hang" condition, or an Xstation PANIC.

The customer's problem was that he had conflicting IP addresses.
