Cannot start qdaemon - errpt shows srchevn.c line 261

ENV:
AIX 3.2.5.1
Model 7015-990

DESC:
When you try to start the qdaemon it says that it has been started.
But if you do an lssrc -s qdaemon immediately afterwards - it is
inoperative

ACT:
We looked in /var/spool/lpd/qdir and found some files names r0abcxxxx
We moved these file to /tmp and after moving them out of the qdir
directory, qdaemon starts and works properly.

These files are special request files - requests such as enable a queue,
disabling a queue, cancelling a job, etc. qdaemon on startup will
try to read the contents of these files into a data structure but
if any of the files are 0 bytes in size or cannot be read qdaemon
is unable to continue. A message is sent to the system console
telling you which specific file in the qdir directory cannot be read.

No cause of the problem has been determined but at AIX 4.1.4M and
AIX 4.2 a check has been added to ignore the special request files
which are 0 size of not readable.
