remakevg command hangs during sysback restore

ENV:
     AIX 4.1.4,
     SYSBACK 3.3.3.4

DESC:
Customer is trying to recreated a volume group from 1 disk to
another by restoring from sysback tape. His goal is to change
the PP size of the volume group and add it to another hdisk.
When it was executing the remakevg -f /dev/rmt0 -v sybasevg commad,
it would hang for about 20 minutes then the customer ctrl C out of the
  process.

Action:
The customer varyoffvg and exportvg the volume group. Then
  ran the remakevg -f /dev/rmt\# -v vgname

It hung on the "Verification of System Information"

1. I had the customer do a ps -eaf
It appears to be hanging in the editvginfo script.

2. I had the customer put set -x in each of the
    functions of the editvginfo script.
It is hanging in the function pv_to_hdisk on the logical volume
    mirrorlv

3. We then looked at the file /tmp/\vginfo
The entry for mirrorlv which has bad pv information. One of the PVs
    for mirrorlv is 0000000000000000

4. I had the customer re-import that vg.

5. lslv -m mirrorlv
It has one bad mirror on it

6. rmlvcopy mirrorlv 1 hdisk1
    that corrected the bad mirror

7. mkvgback -xf /dev/rmt\# vgname
We only let it run for about 3mb. I just wanted it to create the
vginfo info part of the backup image .

8. re-exported that volume group
remakevg -f /dev/rmt\# -v vgname (Use the new tape just created
                                      from step 7)

That corrected the hang issue with editvginfo

9. restore the data from the old tape

Next Action:
  Closing with customer approval
