Changed tty on /etc/ibmatl.config file, lmcp daemon fails

Response:

   Env: 4.1.4, SP2
         Tape 3434 tty attached

   Desc:
Caller has a 3494 attached via SCSI and a tty attaching to
the management control program. Caller had it attached to tty2
before and everything was running fine. He didn't have a tty1,
so he deleted tty2 and reconfigured it to tty1. Then
reconfigured 3494 and that all went smoothly.

   Action:
Now, caller has everything showing up available.
        He's got: lmcp0, rmt0, and rmt1 all available
When he runs 'cfgmgr' to get the lmcp daemon going, he gets an
error and the lmpc daemon won't stay running.

Response:

When the customer tries to start his lmcp daemon, it errors out with:

No valid library configuration defined.

Customer needed to edit his /etc/ibmatl.conf file:

it said:

3494a /dev/tty1

it needed a third field, which should be the host name of the
workstation.

he changed this to:

3494a /dev/tty1 f0

Then he reran cfgmgr and then restarted the daemon. This worked.
Evidently he needed the third field, the identifier.

NOTE:
There are two ways to configure a library, either as a tty (above)
or as an ip address, which you would use if this were a network
connection.
