No hdisk are showing up in service mode

Question:

Env:
  AIX 4.1.4
  RISC C10 and C20
  sysback 3.3.3.7

Customer Rep: Pierce Tsao

Problem:
The customer creates a network boot image on a C10 and
tries to boot a C20 from it. Once up in service
mode none of the hdisk on the system are showing up.

Action Taken:
Choose the option to (option 4) Open up a Maintenance shell
  lsdev -Cc disk
     Nothing showed up
  lsdev -Cc adapter
     Nothing showed up

It appears we are missing the device support for the type
of scsi adapter in the client on the server system.

1. On the server system (C10) I had the customer install
    these filesets:

devices.mca.8d77
      8-bit SCSI I/O Controller Software
devices.mca.8efc
      16-bit SCSI I/O Controller Software
devices.mca.8fba
      Standard NCR53C720 SCSI Software
devices.mca.8ff4
      Standard NCR53C700 SCSI Software

2. Rebooting the server system (C10)
3. Rebuild the network boot image
4. Boot the C20 (client) backup to service mode

This corrected the problem

Action Plan:
  Closing with customer approval
