TAPE_ERR2 on 7332 or 4mm drive, COMPRESSION ERROR

Tape 7206-005 4mm tape drive or 7332 (second gen. machines)
PROBLEM:
Customer is getting TAPE_ERR2 in the errpt, he has changed the
drive out and is still getting the errors.
ACTION TAKEN:
Talked to Brian M. about this item. This is a case of the
compression error showing up on a 4mm4gb tape drive. The compression
errors only show up on generation 2 4mm tape drives and 7332s. 2nd
generation drives always have migrocode (Device Specific Z1) that
start with 5, first generation always starts with 4. There should
be a fix for this released in about a month. The way to tell if
the problem is with compression is by looking at the first two
bytes of the second line of the sense data. In this case, that
number is 4480, which appears when we have the compression problem:
