sbdevice: you are not allowed access to a specified directory.

Question:

Env:
  AIX 4.1.4
  RISC SP2
  sysback 3.3.3.10

Problem:
  Customer tries doing a remote backup to a directory /migrate
  It failes with this error message in smit

  sbdevice: you are not allowed access to a specified directory.

  I had the customer check there .remote_access file
  +all:+all:all:/migrate:/migrate

  Which looks correct.
  I had the customer totally remove that file and
  recreate it through smit again. It still failed again
  with the same error messages

  1. create a file on the server system
    cd /usr/bin
    vi tes.cmd

     set
   find /tmp -print | backup -ivqf- | sbwrite /migrate/file

2.  chmod +x tes.cmd

2a.  vi /usr/lpp/sysback/.remote_cmds
     add this line
     tes.cmd

3. from the client run this command
    sbclient \ tes.cmd 2>&1 | tee /tmp/output

The set command produces output simliar to this:

AUTHSTATE=compat

CLIENT_HOST=systape2
CLIENT_HOSTPERM=all

The sbwrite command failed with
you are not allowed access to a specified directory.

All the values from the set check out from the set command

Also I had the customer try using different directories
in the .remote_access with out any luck.
Also the file images on the remote system show up as
input devices in smit. I have totally run out of ideas
on this one. The customer does not have any way to login
into their system. Could you please provide anymore
details to help solve this one

Action Taken:
  received a call from the customer
They copied the /etc/passwd file from one system
to this one. So all the user ids were incorrect for the
sbnet user. Once we got the ids correct for sbnet it fixed
the problem

Action Plan:
  closing with customer approval
