Print queue for IBM 4208 proprinter will not accept 12cpi

Question:

IN AIX 4.1.4, print queue for IBM 4208 proprinter will not accept 12cpi 
as a default(virtual) printer attribute or from the command line.  This 
works without any problems in 3.2.5.

When trying to set p=12 in the virtual printer attributes, the following 
errors are received:

0782-597 The value of Cs attribute is not in the ring list specified 
in the limits field
0782-598 The value 1 specified in the validate op V in the 
limits field for _p attribute indicates failure
0782-598 The value 1 specified in the validate op V in the 
limits field for _s attribute indicates failure
0782-112 3 Errors detected while validating printer attributes.

Response:

Aquick solution is to remove the queues, and modify the predef files as
follows:

cp /usr/lib/lpd/pio/predef/ibm4208-2.asc /tmp  (save)
vi /usr/lib/lpd/pio/predef/ibm4208-2.asc

Now to control the limits checks and smit panels:
Change
:416:mU::%`"{ print - 'courier[10]';/usr/bin/ls /usr/lib/lpd....
To
:416:mU::%`"{ print - 'courier[10]prestige[12]';/usr/bin/ls ....

Make a new queue and it will work just fine.  You cannot change this 
sort of thing once a queue is made because the smit menu settings will
not get set right.
