sbdevice: Permission denied

Env:
  AIX 4.1.4
  RISC R30
  sysback 3.3.3.6
  Tape 8mm 5gb

Desc:
Customer is doing a remote backup from his R30 to another
R30 with a 8mm tape drive. Both systems are running
sysback 3.3.3.6 The customer is getting this error message when
  running his command:
  sysback -f /dev/rmt0 -h thumper vg1 vg2

  sbdevice: Cannot open /dev/rmt0
  sbdevice: Permission denied

Action:
The customer is able to do a local tape drive backup,
but always fails on the remote backups with the
   above error message.

    On the Server system
    --------------------
    ls -l /dev/rmt0*

crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 0 Aug 20 16:18 rmt0
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 1 Aug 22 14:22 rmt0.1
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 2 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.2
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 3 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.3
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 4 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.4
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 5 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.5
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 6 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.6
crw-rw-r-- 1 root system 19, 7 Jul 2 15:20 rmt0.7

The permissions are 664 for the tape drive device on the server
machine. So there is no write permissions for sbnet.
The sbnet user is what is used when doing remote
backups with sysback at ver 3.3. I had the customer change
the permissions to 666. This corrected the problem

Next Action:
  Closing with customer approval
