New E30 won't boot

IBM 3153 console

DESC:
New E30 won't boot.  There is nothing on the console.

ACT:
The 3153 setup looks OK (9600, 8, n, 1) but I don't believe the
terminal is the problem at all

The sequence being displayed is on the E30 itself is:

00370730

F98 means "SCSI device detected"

00370730 error is divided as follows:

0037 c yy i

c = 0 (SCSI Controller ID assigned by search order PCI)

yy = 93 (Device ID conflict)

i = 0 (SCSI ID)

You had attached an external tape drive with the same SCSI ID as
another device on the system.  Changed the external tape drive's
SCSI ID and the machine boots up to C31 - nothing on the console.
Asked if you had a printer/terminal interposer on the cable - no.
Need an interposer on this cable.  You don't appear to have one.
