0516-693 mklv: The -x parameter is of illegal length or content

Env:
  AIX 4.1.4
  sysback 3.3.3.0
 Desc:

Set the MAX LPs to be the same size as the filesystem
  10pp (40mb) I set the MAX LPs to 10.
  Created a fullsystem backup.
Then tried to restore this tape to another system. First set the
PP size to be 2mb. It used to be set to 4mb.

  Received these messages:

Making sbvg volume group on disks: hdisk1 hdisk3 ..
Creating "jfslog" logical volume: loglv00 ..
       Formatting jfslog ..
Creating "jfs" logical volume: lv01 ..
Creating "jfs" logical volume: lv00 ..
Error creating lv00 - trying again using defaults ..
0516-693 mklv: The -x parameter is of illegal length or content.
0516-822 mklv: Unable to create logical volume.
Unable to create logical volume lv00.

Press Enter to return to SMIT ...

The MAX LPs need to be updated.

Also the editvginfo allows me to change the PP size before I have
selected any drives. What would happen, if I changed the PP size to
  2mb then selected 4.5gb drives?

Response:

Action: Fixed in 3.3.3.1
