Can't create a fullsystem backup with 1/4" tape drive

Env:
  AIX 3.2.4
  RISC 340
  Tape 7207-011 1/4" 525mb QIC 525
  sysback 3.2.1.31

Desc:
Customer is getting a sbwrite error when trying to create a
full system backup. sysback -f /dev/rmt0
sbwrite unable to write volume header

Action:
The block size is 0 on the tape drive. This is the problem!!
On 1/4" tapes, you must use a block size of 512 when writing data for
  a fullsystem backup.
The error is occurring on the writes for rootvg.

Example: If the tape drives block size is set at 0
The sysback command will first set the block size to 512 to write
the first 4 boot images, then set the block size to 0 and rewind
and fast forward 4 file marks and try writing the rootvg data.
The 1/4" will not support this. You must have the block size set
to 512. Having the bs=512 will keep the tape drive from having to
rewind and fastward to start the write for rootvg.

Next Action:
  Closing with customer approval
