Getting rm, ln and lsdev errors with sysback



Question:

Env:
  AIX 4.1.4
  RISC SP2
  sysback 3.3.1.16

Desc:
  Customer is trying to install from a remote tape drive
  by booting from a network boot image on a 4.1.4 system then
  choose the tape to install from on the server.
  Before the main menu shows the customer gets these
  error messages flash on the screen:

  rm: /bin/sh not removed
  Read-only file system
  ln: /bin/sh exists.  Specify -f to remove
  rm: /bin/copydump not removed
  Read-only file system
  rm: /bin/pax not removed.
  Read-only file system
  rm: /bin/tee not removed
  Read-only file system

  lsdev: 0514-521 Cannot find information in the predefined 
         device configuration database for the customized 
         device rmt0

  lsdev: 0514-521 Cannot find information in the predefined 
         device configuration database for the customized 
         device rmt1

  lsdev: 0514-521 Cannot find information in the predefined 
         device configuration database for the customized 
         device rmt2

  lsdev: 0514-521 Cannot find information in the predefined 
         device configuration database for the customized 
         device hdisk0

Action:
  These messages are fixed in sysback 3.3.1.19

  19   Suppress error messages from lsdev and rm commands during
       network boot on AIX 4.1.4 systems.

       WORKAROUND: none - does not affect install operation

Next Action:
  Sending sysback 3.3.1.19 to the customer and closing with
  customer approval
