AIX not seeing additional space when adding drives to 7137-514

Env: AIX 3.2.5, R24
     7137-514 Single LUN(RAID 5)
Desc: Added two physical drives to max out 7137, but space doesn't
show up when running lspv hdisk\#.
Followed the install procedures starting in page 5-10 of the Setup and
Operator's Guide and everything ran smooth, but the RISC System/6000 does
not see the additional space. Ran 02 on the 7137 and all 8 the drives
show up fine. There is a warning on page 5-10 of the Setup and
Operator's Guide. Does this apply to AIX?
Act: Unfortunely the warning does apply. The AIX Operating System will
not see the additional space until the VGDA has been rewritten. This
means that you will have to remove the volume group that resides on the
hdisk(s) for the 7137 and then readd(NOT import) the volume group.
Assuming that you have already backed up all of your data on this volume
group, here are the steps that you should follow:
    1. varyoff the VG
   2. export the VG
   3. rmdev -dl hdisk0
   4. cfgmgr
   5. (not needed first time through) run arrayinst
   6. recreate the VG
   7. make sure that AIX sees the additional space
IF NOT, go back to Step 1 and redo all steps (INCLUDING Step 5)
   8. make the LVs/FSs and restore the data
Next Act: Step 5 was not needed, as is the usual case if the 02 shows
all the drives. The customer is now up and running with AIX seeing
the additional space.
