mkvirprt hangs 3.2.5.1 from cmd ln / 0782-326 not a valid printer type

Question:

Env: AIX 3251

Desc: Trying to create virtual printer.
    Getting error:

    0782-303 Cannot find customized attributes for print queue
    lpb914 and queue device lpd914
    check the -q and -d flags.

  -- The attributes file for the printer-type she is trying
     to create is /lib/lpd/pio/predef/2380.asc.
    The permissions, owner, size, date & checksum match
     my 325 system.

  -- The links in /lib/lpd/pio are set up:

        custom -> /var/spool/lpd/pio/custom
        ddi -> /var/spool/lpd/pio/ddi
        flags -> /var/spool/lpd/pio/flags

  -- The directory /var/spool/lpd/pio permissions look fine.
    The subdirs "custom" & "ddi" look good & have the other
    printer definitions.

         mkvirprt -q lpd914 -d lpd914 -nlpd914 -fasc -t ibm2381
        gives .. 0782-326 not a valid printer type.
                lsvirprt -qlpd914 -dlpd914 .. gives ..0782-303 cannot find 
        customized attributes for lpd914 and queue device lpd914
        check the -q and -d flags.

        lsvirprt .. has 600 print queues 
        the queue lpd 914 does not show up on the system.
        I asked Barbara to see when she can take the qdaemon down so 
        we can re-add the queues.  
        She will take the qdaemon down later on today and add the 
        queues.

NEXT:    Below 4.1 do not add `ibm' as the type for printer
        4.1 and above add the `ibm'.

EXAMPLE:

AIX \<4.1x -- mkvirprt -q lpd914 -d lpd914 -nlpd914 -fasc -t 2381
AIX >4.1x -- mkvirprt -q lpd914 -d lpd914 -nlpd914 -fasc -t ibm2381

The main issue is a difference in the syntax required on for mkvirprt 
command in version 4.1 and above as opposed to below version 4.1
