NetView - Number of available status colors

Question:

What I need to know is
  - can I add status types or is everyone stuck with the inital eight?
  - how do I assign my own colors to status types?
You are correct, you are basically limited to the 8 existing
status types (Up, down, marginal, unknown, unmanaged, acknowledged,
User1, User2), but you can redefine the colors for those status
types.

To redefine the colors, edit the file /usr/OV/app-defaults/OVw and
change the lines:

OVw*unknownStatusColor:                 SkyBlue
OVw*downStatusColor:                    red
OVw*marginalStatusColor:                yellow
OVw*upStatusColor:                      green
OVw*unmanagedStatusColor:               wheat
OVw*acknowledgedStatusColor:            LimeGreen
OVw*user1StatusColor:                   \#ffdc6969b4b4
OVw*user2StatusColor:                   \#94940000d3d3

OVw*unknownStatusLineColor:             black
OVw*downStatusLineColor:                red
OVw*marginalStatusLineColor:            yellow

OVw*unmanagedStatusLineColor:           black
OVw*acknowledgedStatusLineColor:        black
