NetView - Labels for Networks

Question:

I have a question about Symbol labels. My problem is I
have a current DNS system, with names for all of my network
symbols, and they all show up as IP Addresses. It looks as
though the routers and nodes within these network symols are
correct, but not the symbols themselves.

Answer:

The name of the network is taken from the /etc/networks file.

If, before a network is discovered, you put a name in the /etc/networks
file for the network, you should get the network name for the symbol
label.

(I think) the problem here is that once netmon creates a network, it
never re-evaluates the network name. With a node, you can do a demand
poll to find the new hostname, but it's not currently possible
to demand poll a network.

So, I believe that the only way to see the new label for a network
is to delete and rediscover the network after you have changed the
/etc/networks.

This of course is not the case for nodes, gateways, and the like.
They get updated after netmon's configuration check.
