Information:

With NetView/6000 Version 2, the installation of Optivity should not cause
any problems for NetView/6000.

With NetView for AIX Version 3, if no PTFs after or including U436916 are
installed, then the installation of Optivity should not cause any problems
for NetView for AIX.

With NetView for AIX Version 3, with PTF U436916 or later installed,
NetView for AIX will no longer allow the "-p" option to be placed in
either the /usr/OV/lrf/pmd.lrf file or the /usr/OV/lrf/trapd.lrf file.

If your lrf files have this "-p412" option placed in them, and you are
getting error messages when trying to start either of these daemons,
do the following:

  1) Edit the /usr/OV/lrf/pmd.lrf file and remove the ",-p412" option.
  2) Edit the /usr/OV/lrf/trapd.lrf file and remove the ",-p412" option.
  3) Run       ovstop
       ovstart OVORS_M
       ovdelobj /usr/OV/lrf/pmd.lrf
       ovdelobj /usr/OV/lrf/trapd.lrf
       ovaddobj /usr/OV/lrf/pmd.lrf
       ovaddobj /usr/OV/lrf/trapd.lrf
  4) Use "smitty nv6000" to change the UDP port for trapd:
       Configure
       Set options for daemons
       Set options for event and trap processing daemons
       Set options for trapd daemon
         Change the "Port used to receive snmp traps over udp" field
         to "412"

Now type "ovstart", then type "ovstatus" to verify that the daemons
are running properly.
