NetView - NV 6K refuses to recognize 2 NSC routers

Question:

Problem:

We have 2 NSC routers we're using here for packet filtering to the Internet.
>From what I understand, they predate MIB-2 and don't fully support it.
(Also, it is highly improbable that they will be micro-code upgraded!)

Here's the pertinent part of the system MIB instances.

system.sysDescr.0 : DISPLAY STRING- (ascii): NSC_iprinet
system.sysObjectID.0 : OBJECT IDENTIFIER:
        .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.nsc.nscExperimental.1

Anyway, NV 6K V2.1 refuses to recognize these 2 boxes as routers. It
does however, produce submaps for all their interfaces. They are
pingable and the snmp configurations are correct. (snmpwalk works!!)
Rnetstat works, too!

We have the NSC mib loaded, but I don't this doesn't appear to help.
BTW, all the other router we have here on site Ciscos and Wellfleets
are all discovered correctly. Is there something I can do to modify
the Object Description or force their discovery as routers?

Answer:
Put the sysObjectID of the NSC gateways into the /usr/OV/conf/oid_to_type
file, and put a "G" flag at the end of the line (see the instructions
in the oid_to_type file for instructions).

Delete the routers from all submaps and all maps and rediscover.
They should be discovered as gateways.
