NetView - How only one special user change the polling intermal?

Question:

Removing the line:

      \<95>  "SNMP Configuration..."   _S  f.action "xnmsnmpconf";

from the file:

      /usr/OV/registration/C/ovsnmp/xnmsnmpconf

will prevent that menu option from being displayed.

If you want to be really sophisticated, you can create multiple
registration subdirectories, and assign different users to different
subdirectories, so that multiple xnmsnmpconf registration files can be
maintained, some with the "SNMP config" option and others without.

This is done with an environment variable called $OVwRegDir.

Version 4 of NetView accomplishes the same thing by using security.
