        a Lantronics Print Server. They are able to print,
        but they get the following message when doing things
        like lpstat and such:
        awk: 0602-534: input line cannot be longer than 10,239 bytes

ACT:    This is a known problem for this terminal server.
        Searching for the fix number. There is a workaround
        as well.

NEXT:   Will call customer back.

The following fix is documented for the APAR for the LANTRONIX
Print server problem with the awk error at AIX 4.1.
This problem also occurs with the LexMark MarkNet print servers.

 ERROR DESCRIPTION:
  The Lantronix print server sends files through that begin
 in a NULL byte.  As a result the awk in aixlong, aixshort,
 PROBLEM SUMMARY:
 The Lantronix print server sends files through that begin
 in a NULL byte resulting in failures in aixlong (and related)
 scripts.
 PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
 Add filtering into the script to remove NULL characters passed
 through.

        the filter file:
        RS = "[\\0\\n]" (after the STATE = 0 line).
