Action: Customer called back. I found item in xmenu (S6319) regarding
duplicate entries in smit.
Action: Mike and I called customer regarding duplicate entries.
Mike told customer the service pack causes the problem of
double entries in smit. Toranto issues new service pack
that fixes the problem. Told customer she has installation
images that has the problem. The visual part has to be done
manually. The fix does not edit the problem but it prevents
it from happening again if customer reinstalls again.
Action: Mike and I did conference call to customer. Told her to
do the following:
login as root
cd /usr/lib/objrepos
cp sm_menu_opt sm_menu_opt.old
cp sm_cmd_hdr sm_cmd_hdr.old
cp sm_cmd_opt sm_cmd_opt.old
cd to /usr/lpp/db2_01_01_0000/bin
type db2rmsgmgr
then type odmadd db2sgmgr.def
Then go and check if segment manager tool works OK.
Customer checked smit and duplicates were gone. Told
customer we would be sending her the ptf with instructions
for installation. Told her to call us back if she has
problems.
