IBM 4/16MB Autodetecting Token Ring Adapter in 40P

Question:

Q: I'm having problems connecting IBM 4/16MB Autodetecting
Token Ring Adapter in 40P. How do you do this ?

A: Before AIX 4.1.3, this adapter is not supported. But....
you can configure this on a PC (!) if you are trying
to set it up on a system before AIX 4.1.3. In the
DOS menu-driven program, you will want to turn the
Autodetecting feature OFF. Next, configure the system
the same as the standard (older) token ring adapter
with dip switches for the 40P.

If you have 4.1.3, then you simply need to load the
device driver and install it onto disk. Then you
should be able to add the adapter as standard (w/ SMS
        diskette).
