Desc:   Mike has a graphics terminal model 6324-001 and
        wants to know how to open multiple virtual terminals.

Act:    We tried 'open ksh' but the command failed stating 
        'open: not found'.

        I discussed the problem with graphics and learned the 
        problem is a result of changes to AIX in version 4.1.
        The problem is that at AIX 4.1, the hft subsystem is
        not implemented.  At 3.2, a user could enter
        'open ksh' and then hot-key from session to session with
        the 'cntrl-alt' keys pressed.  However, that functionality
        does not exist at 4.1 since the hft subsystem is not
        implemented.  The lft (low function terminal) subsystem is
        used, but does not allow hot-keys.
