Reducing hd6 with 0 free PPs in rootvg

Response:

Env: 3.2.5, model c10, 128Mb of RAM

Desc: Customer created 432Mb of paging space in hd6. There are no
free PPs on the system. How to remove hd6?

Action: You can reduce hd6 with 0 free PPs in rootvg by this means:

Boot the machine in service mode from bootable media.
Define the console and go to Limited Function Maint. Shell
Run "getrootfs" to see which is the boot disk (you may want
to see which disk has hd6 on it before you start)
        Run the following commands:

\# importvg -y rootvg hdisk\# (from the output of getrootfs)
        \# varyonvg -f -n rootvg
        \# mount /dev/hd4 /mnt
        \# fsck -y /dev/hd2
        \# mount /dev/hd2 /mnt/usr
\# rmps hd6 (ignore errors about not finding commands, as long
as you get the message "logical volume hd6 is removed")
        \# mklv -y hd6 -t paging \ \
Turn the key to normal, eject the bootable media, and run
        "reboot".
