bootp packets not getting across router

Question:

I an having a problem with the bootp packets not getting forwarded by
my routers. I am running 3.2.5 on a 580.

Response:

ENV:
----
AIX 325 (SPO, PMP) model 580 , bootp, PCs, token ring and sysco routers

DESC:
-----
Customer's pc's can not boot from their servers. The bootp packets
are not being received due to the fact that they are being sent without
source routing information.

The customer ran an iptrace to tell that the bootp packets were coming
without source routing information.

ACTION:
-------
1) Check bootpd level:
        cd /etc
        what bootpd
2) If level is 1.16 or greater then add :bt: flag to bootptab file for
        pc entry.
3) Explain the function of the :bt: flag:
The bt flag is a boolean flag which is used for booting
certain Xstations or pc's thru source routing bridges.
If the bt flag is present in the bootptab file :bt: then
information is added to the arp entry on the RISC which
allows the packets to get through source routing bridges.
