Question:

Customer wants to find a pin out to run from a ran to HP laser 4+.

The following pinouts worked, except flow control problems resulted.

   8-Wire (128 port)      Printer
         RJ-45               DB-9

         DSR 1\<---------------6 DTR (Altpin does logical swith DSR->DCD)
         RTS 2
          FG 3
         TxD 4--------------->3 RxD
         RxD 5\<---------------2 TxD
          SG 6----------------5 SG
         CTS 7\<---------------8 DTR
         DTR 8--------------->4 DSR

Diagram in the HP book shows that the DTR signal from the printer is
actually split to go out to both pins 6 & 8 on the DB-9 connector.

Customer called back to say that the wrapping back of RTS to CTS on
the RAN worked for him.
Closing item.

New Pinouts: 8-Wire (128 port) Printer
         RJ-45               DB-9

         DSR 1\<---------------6 DTR (Altpin does logical swith DSR->DCD)
     / \<-RTS 2
     |    FG 3
     |   TxD 4--------------->3 RxD
     |   RxD 5\<---------------2 TxD
     |    SG 6----------------5 SG
     \\ ->CTS 7
         DTR 8--------------->4 DSR

These pinouts should work with both XON/XOFF and DTR flow control.
When using DTR flow control, use the 'alternate rj45 pinout' setting
for the printer device.
