Problems with corrupted file system since changing logs

Question:

AIX: 3.2.3 ext.

DESC: Customer has 20+ file systems that have recently started
showing up with "dirty" superblocks and file system
corruption ever since they changed the log devices for
      those file systems.

ACT: Checked one of the logical volume's Logical Volume Control
Block (LVCB) with the "getlvcb -AT LVNAME" command. This
showed the name of the original log on the fs line. However,
/etc/filesystems shows the new (and correct) log for this
file system. fsck will use the information in /etc/filesystems
and this information does appear to be correct. However, the
information in /etc/filesystems directly conflicts with the
information in the LVCB. We used the "chfs /FILESYSTEM" command
for each of the file systems to update the LVCB with the correct
information found in /etc/filesystems. This cleared up the
      file system corruption problems.
