graPHIGS Run-Time Environment Package Information

The graPHIGS Run-Time Environment Package contains the base development tools, including 6098 support, remote nucleus files, plotter support, and default fonts. Also contained in this package is an installation verification program.

Fileset Names

PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.6098	graPHIGS 6098 Support Files Contains the graPHIGS support files for the 6098 with FDDI (Fiber Distribution Data Interface) feature.
PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.base	graPHIGS Base Run-Time Environment Contains the base graPHIGS run-time libraries and executables for using Xlib, soft, and the hardware-accelerated graphics adapters which support the graPHIGS API.
PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.pipe	graPHIGS Pipeline Run-Time Environment Contains the graPHIGS pipeline run-time libraries that support some graphics adapters.

graPHIGS IBM/CALCOMP/VERSATEC Plotter

PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.plot	Support Files Contains the IBM plotter support files, including the cpsI1 plot module for the IBM plotters, the cpsC1 plot module for CalComp plotters, and the cpsV1 plot module for Versatec plotters.
PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.rnuc	graPHIGS Remote Nucleus Support Contains the support files for the graPHIGS API remote nucleus.
PEX_PHIGS.graPHIGS.rte.soft	graPHIGS Soft Run-Time Environment Contains the graPHIGS run-time libraries and executables for using the SoftGraphics technology, which uses AIX for operations.

Special Installation Notes

An Installation Verification Program is supplied with the graPHIGS Base Run-Time Environment fileset. Run /usr/lpp/graPHIGS/etc/ivp to start the program.

If you use the hardware-accelerated adapters, you may desire not to install the graPHIGS Soft Run-Time Environment.
