This package provides functions that allow users to search HTML documents that are registered with the search service. This is the search service for searching AIX online documentation such as the AIX Library and application documents such as the Web-based System Manager's extended help documents.
bos.docsearch.client.com Docsearch Client
The client part of the Documentation Search Service package. Provides the ability to call the search form. Should be be installed on all systems, client or server.
bos.docsearch.client.Dt Docsearch Client CDE Desktop Icons and Actions
The CDE Desktop icons and actions. Should be installed if using the CDE Desktop. Provides desktop icons and actions that launch the search service search forms.
bos.docsearch.rte Docsearch Server
This server fileset performs the functions of providing search forms to users, searching the online documents, and providing links so that found documents can be opened for reading. It should be installed on systems that will store and search the online documents. It should be installed on a standalone system that just serves users of the standalone system, or it can be installed on a remote server that will serve searches and documents to remote clients.
The Documentation Search Service, including corequisite software, requires approximately .8 megabytes of disk space.
The following corequisite software will be automatically installed when the Documentation Search Service server fileset is installed.

On client systems, you must also install a forms-capable web browser. On server systems, cgi-compliant web server software must also be installed, configured, and started. Additional configuration of AIX to make the search service work properly with the browser and webserver may be required if it was not factory configured.
