OS2PopS - A full function POP server for OS/2

Just what is a POP server you may ask?  POP stands for Post Office
Protocol and it defines a series of commands that a POP client may
use to interact with a POP server.  These commands are detailed in
RFC (Request For Comments) 1939 (previously 1725).

Basically, a POP server interacts with a mail client to deliver mail
that has been received via TCP/IP (specifically via SMTP).  There are
a number of POP mail clients available for just about every operating
system that is available today.  If you have an account with an ISP
(Internet Service Provider) chances are very good that your mail is
delivered to you from a POP server.

OS2PopS is easy to use and simple to install.  Written entirely in
Rexx, with the graphical interface provided by VX-Rexx, the OS2PopS
POP server can handle from 1 to an unlimited number of clients
(depending on the hardware used of course).

Taking advantage of the multi-tasking and threading in OS/2, OS2PopS
provides exceptional response for your clients.  Extensive data may be
logged to allow you to generate reports and debug problems if necessary.

OS2PopS allows remote administration and includes a remote administration
client.  This allows the owner/operator of a OS2PopS POP server to
handle client additions, modifications, and deletions without being
physically located at the server.

OS2PopS has been in production since May of 1996 and includes
reporting on the amount of data OS2PopS has delivered to clients.
Other possibilities are outlined in the INF file that is included
in the distribution.

The OS2PopS Mailing List

To make it easier for everyone using OS2PopS to exchange ideas and
information a mailing list has been established that everyone is
welcome to join.  The list includes people inside of IBM as well
as external customers.  Comments, suggestions, requests for help,
and just about anything else related to OS2PopS is welcome on the list.

The list is run by a MajorDomo server that is open to everyone.  To
subscribe to the list send a note to majordomo@raleigh.ibm.com and
include in the body of the note a single line that contains:

subscribe os2pops

For a summary of the MajorDomo commands that are available send a
single line that contains:
