All current microcode updates have been packaged on two CD-ROM images (sysimage.iso, io_image.iso). These images also include a Discovery Tool that compares microcode levels on your system to current levels and allows you to select and update downlevel microcode.

CD and microcode update information

The PTF number of the CD-ROMs, file sizes and change history are available in the CD and microcode update information table. The table includes the file sizes and the PTF numbers to order physical media, if needed.

To obtain previous Release / Service pack levels,  you must download the files from the Microcode download web site.

You can download the CD-ROM images to burn your own "Microcode Update Files and Discovery Tool CD-ROMs". The images are in ISO 9660 format.

You must have access to a CD-R or CD-RW drive and software that is capable of creating a CD from an ISO image.

Use your software's feature for creating a CD from an ISO image. Adaptec Easy CD Creator calls this feature "Create CD from CD image". RecordNow! and Nero Burning ROM call this feature "Burn Image". Refer to the help provided with your CD-R software for further assistance.

Note: The Microcode Download web page will always contain the most current service pack levels within each supported Release level. It is recommended that the date of the firmware needed (located on the download web page) be compared with the image create date listed below prior obtaining this image.
