While general field upgrades of 59x systems at
firmware release level SF230 (or earlier) to firmware release level SF235
are not being performed, this release level was shipped on 59x systems shipping
from manufacturing between October 2005 and May 2006.
Concurrent update to the latest service pack within
the SF235 Release is available to customers via ECA 828.
Model 590 and 595 Recommendations:
Systems Currently at Release Level SF230:
Customers not requiring the function being provided in later firmware
releases can stay at their current level and continue to receive fixes
via Service Packs to minimize disruption to their operations. Product Engineering
recommends the concurrent installation of ECA 827 (minimum level SF230_156)
during your next firmware maintenance window.
Customers with model 59x servers at firmware
level SF230_xxx who would like to enable the Redundant FSP/Node failover
capabilities or upgrade their firmware to a new release boundary (i.e. SF240_xxx)
for any reason should call 1-800-IBM-SERV and request ECA815. IBM
will dispatch a Service Representative to complete this upgrade for you.
Systems Currently at Release Level SF235:
Product Engineering recommends the concurrent installation of ECA
828 (minimum level SF235_206) during your next firmware maintenance window.

level would like to learn more about what is contained in the latest
service pack, visit http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/firmware/gjsn?mode=30&page=01SF235_214_160.html
NOTE: Note: For 9119 systems
with release level SF235 installed, an ECA is not required to upgrade to
release level SF240.
