Two seperate items fixed. Management approval was given to fix
these under the same PTR in an attempt to avoid further
confusing supercede chain:
1) IOMF FSP reset/reload requests are coming to XM after XM has
already notified them that a reset/reload is in progress. As a
workaround, PHYP XM will lock out that thread from entering the
reset code if there is a reset in progress.
2) The HvPciNode::getBusUnitInfo method checks for the wrong
enumerated values. The method checks for the "which" parm to be
set to either HvCallPci::TestPerr or HvCallPci::TestSerr when
it should be checking for the "which" parm to be set to
HvCallXm::PerrTested or HvCallXm::SerrTested. This causes the
method to return XmTmRetCode::InvalidOperation (0x307) for any
valid values for the "which" parm. This problem affects iSeries
partitions running on PHYP trying to determine if the hypervisor
has performed autorun perr/serr testing on a standalone
(IOPless) adapter. The bug is not serious since the partition
will attempt to run perr/serr testing itself if it receives any
non-successful return code from HvPciNode::getBusUnitInfo.
Added lockout for IOMF reset thread if reset is already active.
Corrected PERR/SERR enums.
None.
Inter-team FSP reset/relaod document does not spell out need for
chip reset detection during other reset protocols. Need to add
that detection during host intiated and self initiated reset
protocols.
Added chip reset detection while in active protocol states.

I/O towers and drawers fail to power on when a PCI card in the
tower or drawer has been changed.
Code was changed to initialize I/O resources in
I/O towers and drawers correctly when powering on
a tower or drawer after replacing PCI cards in the
tower or drawer.
None.
AIX fails after the DLPAR of a slot due to an incorrect
return code from the hypervisor.
This change will return the proper return code from
the hypervisor.

When HSL opticonnect starts, a system may hang at various points
before PHYP standby.
Code has been changed to avoid the hang.
None.

Correct data will be passed up for the few slot types that are
incorrect.
None.
Machine Check Interrupts during IO space loads and stores will

Corrected the code to handle Machine Check Interrupts that
occur during loads and stores to IO space.

reaching the system upon IPL of SF2 & L4
Implemented code to unblock interrupts.
None.
Uncapped shared partitions may hang.
The problem has been fixed.
None.

when removing to the partitions minimum.
Allocated count of virtual processors was not being kept
current. This will be corrected.
None.
B2xx7200 is logged as a permanent error.
B2xx7200 is logged as an informational error.
None.
Informational events (i.e. errors which do not require service
action) detected by the hypervisor do not get sent to the
secondary partitions.
Informational events will now get sent to the secondary
partitions.
None.
Power loss to the box (by pulling the power cord from the wall
supply, not by powering off the machine) can result in an
invalid state reflected to HMC thus leaving HMC blank.
This was a branch of code left from a design element that was
dropped from the planned ship group. This branch of code should
also have been pulled but was not. This corrective fix resolves
the problem.
If this is seen, simply powering down the box and powering up
again (via the power down / power up switch on the box) will
make the problem go away.

Spurious FIPS error log entries were seen on PHYP startup
related to inter-hardware communication paths.
One of the hardware communications clients needed a protocol
correction. With this correction, the intra-hardware traffic is
corrected and the spurious error log entries are no longer
generated.
None.
HSL opticonnect clusters involving 3 systems on the same HSL
ring do not connect.
The code was incorrectly halting all I/O traffic during the
connection protocol. While I/O traffic is halted, incomming
messages to not be processed. This caused the connection
protocol to fail. Code has been changed to not halt all I/O
traffic during the connection protocol.

Correction to the communcations method that was incorrectly

If a partition tries to increase the number of
processors units in use by the partition and the Lpar
group does not have any addition processor units
available, a successful return code is returned to
SLIC from the Hypervisor. This leads to incorrect

Change will be made to report an error if there is
insufficent resouces available when trying to increase
the number of processor units.

At system startup time, error logs were generated saying a

produced.

After two subsequent abnormal platform terminations, the

The partition reboot policy flag will not get disabled during a
platform dump re-IPL.
None.
Very early in the hypervisor IPL, before the time of day clock
gets initialized, errors that get logged have an uninitialized
timestamp beginning with year '1928'. These errors are
currently being expired in the hypervisor as being too old, and
therefore do not get sent to partitions that become active
shortly after the hypervisor IPLs.
The hypervisor will only expire error logs if the following 2
conditons are met:
1) a global variable indicating the time of day clock has
completed initialization will be checked to ensure completion;
2) the log's stored timestamp will be verified, and the verified
timestamp will be used to determine how old the log is.
This will prevent early IPL errors from being expired (due to
uninitialized timestamps) before they are sent to the
partitions.

There are situations where the error logs pertaining to
mainstore dumps will not be matched up with other error logs
related to the error represented by the mainstore dump.
This problem is caused because the firmware that handles the

therefore, all related logs with the correct error log ID are
not getting paired with the mainstore dump error log.

The problem was it tries to substract the total number of itmes
to display with the TOTAL number of CR lines in the device-list.
Total # of CR lines need to be updated for every page displayed.
Also for the first page, it will always display the headers as
the first two items, so we need to take that into consideration
when doing the # of items per page calculation.
