Aptiva - Windows prompts for Windows 98 CD

Applicable to: World-Wide

Some features of Windows 98 will require the operating system to obtain files from the CAB files in the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS folder. Examples include creating a Windows 98 emergency Startup diskette or adding network protocols included with Windows 98. Windows will search the WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder for the CAB files, and then it will prompt the user for the Windows 98 CD. When prompted for the Windows 98 CD, the user should tell the program to search the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS folder, and the system will find and use the files correctly.
