TP General - PCMCIA Controllers used in Thinkpad Products
Applicable to: World-Wide
In troubleshooting PCMCIA problems, sometimes it is useful to know the specific PCMCIA controller used in a particular machine. The following information is provided to assist in those situations.

Under the Pcmcia Socket in Device Manager you should see:

While Docked on a Dock2 or Port Replicator you can tell the two controllers apart in Windows 95. You look to the PCMCIA Sockets in Device Manager. There should be two. Look at the resource Tab of each. The Thinkpad PCMCIA Controller always uses I/O address of 03E0-03E1. The Dock2, SAD1, SAD2, and the Port Rep1 use I/O address of 03E2-03E3. No IRQ's are used in Win95 for either set of slots
