6542 G40 Display - Blank screen with Windows 95

SYMPTOM:
After attaching an IBM Model 6542-103 G40 display and choosing the Cirrus 5446 video driver install icon, allowing the video driver to automatically set the refresh rate results in a black screen when Windows 95 is restarted.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies to IBM PC Model PC300GL, machine types 6272 and 6282, running Windows 95 and using Cirrus Logic 5446 video driver version 1.13s or earlier.
FIX:
Download and install Cirrus Logic 5446 Windows 95 video driver version 1.13W, file name ZV3T10A.EXE.
In order to recover from the black screen condition, Windows 95 may need to be restarted in Safe Mode to reset the video to VGA. The updated driver can then be installed in Windows 95.
ZV3T10A.EXE may be downloaded via the Internet from the IBM Personal Computer File Library by searching the following Internet URL:
www.us.pc.ibm.com/files.html
