IBM IntelliStation/IBM PC - DBCS characters cannot be entered in NetFinity remote workstation session
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
DBCS characters cannot be entered under a NetFinity RWC session.
CONFIGURATION:
Any 2 workstations, one running NetFinity Manager, another NetFinity Services. Up to the present version of NetFinity (5.10.xx)
RESOLUTION:
This operation is not supported.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
DBCS operating systems use special software called a Front End Processor (FEP) to allow the conversion of keyboard input into video- and pictgraphic characters. The FEP essentially sits between the keyboard and the application into which the text will eventually be put. Any DBCS characters must first be put into the FEP for conversion before being put into an application. FEPs are
operating system specific.
NetFinity is not compatible with any DBCS FEP.
