TP 360,370,750,755,760 - Is it possible to swap hard disks between these systems?
Applicable to: World-Wide
Description:
Is it possible to swap hard drives between the 760 and (360, 370, 750, 755) ThinkPads?
Note: The ThinkPad 360, 370, 750 and 755 all use the same hard drives.
Solution:
A disk drive from a 760 can be used in any 360, 370, 750 or 755 ThinkPad, using a bracket included with the disk drive. (A BIOS upgrade might be needed). However a 360, 370, 750, 755 hard drive cannot be used in the 760. The drives are physically too large.
Note: There are some third party vendors who make adapters to allow you to put the larger drives in the 760. These adapters are not supported by IBM as they require disassembling the drive.
