Ambra - Re-installing the SIS 5596 video drivers in Windows 95

How do I re-install the SIS 5596 video drivers in my Ambra computer running Windows 95?

Answer:
Follow the steps below.

For this operation you will need the SIS MULTIMEDIA IDE CD

1. Insert the SIS MULTIMEDIA IDE CD into your CD-ROM drive.
3. Right click once on the desktop wallpaper.
5. Click on Properties from the menu. Click on Settings and Advanced Display Properties.
7. Next to Adapter Type, click on the Change button.
9. Under Select Device click on the Have Disk button, then click on the Browse button.
11. Select the CD-ROM drive.
13. Double click on the MM folder, then the Windows 95 folder.
15. There should be a file highlighted on the left.
17. Click on OK and then click on OK again.
19. The SIS driver should be highlighted.
21. Click on OK.
23. Windows will then copy the files to the hard drive.
25. When done click on Close and then click on Apply.
27. Click on Yes to restart the computer. The video is now installed. You will now have 256 colors and you will be able to access other screen resolutions and colors.
