TP 755,760,765 - Installation instructions for VST Zip drive

Below are the instructions for installing the VST Zip drive in an IBM ThinkPad 755CD/CDV, 760CD, 760E (thick models only)/ED/EL/ELD/LD/XD/XL, or 765XD/XL. To install the VST Zip drive in the UltraBay of your ThinkPad, follow these simple steps:
Note: Before installing the Zip drive into the UltraBay, make sure that if you have the FDD bezel installed that you remove it before installing the Zip drive.
Windows 95
1.) With the ThinkPad powered off, install the Zip drive into the UltraBay.
2.) Power on your computer and boot into Windows 95.
3.) Insert the Zip Tools disk into the Zip drive.
4.) Click on Start, then Run, and type in x:\install and click on OK (where x is the drive letter assigned to the Zip drive).
5.) Click on your desired language.
6.) Read through the licensing agreement. If you accept the agreement, click on Yes to continue.
7.) You will then be given a list of Zip tools to install as well as where you want to install them. To accept the default, click on Next.
8.) After the installation is completed, make sure Yes, I want to restart my computer now is highlighted and click on OK.
After rebooting, if you go to Device Manager, under Disk Drives you will see IOMEGA ZIP 100 listed with no exclamation point or red X by it.
Windows 3.1x
1.) Ensure that the floppy drive is installed in the computer. Power on the computer and boot into Windows.
2.) Insert the VST Zip 100 Setup diskette into the floppy drive. Click on File, then Run, and type A:\SETUP in the dialog box and then click on OK.
3.) Click on OK to continue.
4.) Exit Windows and then power off the computer. Remove the diskette from the floppy drive and then remove the floppy drive from the UltraBay
5.) Install the Zip drive into the UltraBay. Insert the Zip Tools disk into the Zip drive and then start the computer and boot into Windows.
6.) When you boot back into Windows, the setup program will automatically continue. Click on the desired language.
7.) Click on OK and it will automatically restart Windows and the installation process.
8.) You will be given the option to select the tools you want to install and where you want to install them. To accept the default, click on Next.
9.) When it is finished with the installation program, click on Finish.
After the installation it will have made the following changes to the Autoexec.bat file:

SHARE.EXE /I:500 /F:5100
C:\TOOLS_31\GUEST.EXE
No other files are modified except for the Win.ini file which are just the normal changes to add the icon to the desktop. It also places to programs in the Startup folder for Windows. They are Tools Startup and Eject.
