TP 380,385,560X,770 - Installation of audio drivers for Windows 95
Applicable to: World-Wide
1. Start Windows 95.
2. Insert the Audio Features Diskette for Windows 95 into the
diskette drive.
3. Click on Start.
4. Click on Run....
5. Type a:setup and click on OK.
6. Click on the Install Driver button in the pop-up window.
7. Follow the directions on the screen.
8. When the computer prompts you to restart the computer, remove any diskette from the diskette drive and click on the Restart button.
9. After restarting the computer, you will get a window titled Update Device Driver Wizard. At this point, insert the Audio Features Diskette for Windows 95 into the diskette drive and click on Next. It will then come back and say that it found the following driver for this device: Crystal PnP Audio System CODEC. Click on Finish.
10. It will then prompt you to insert the Audio Features Diskette and ask you where the drivers are located. Change the path to A:\ and then click on Install.
11. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
The MIDI serial port connector is available when the computer is attached to the ThinkPad Enhanced Port Replicator. The MIDI port capability is disabled as a default, so you need to enable the function with the ThinkPad Features.
To ensure that the proper audio drivers are installed for you system you need to check and make sure that the following devices appear under Device Manager. To do this click on Start, Setting, Control Panel, and the System. Go to the Device Manager tab. Scroll down to Sound, video and game controllers. If there is a + sign to the left of this click on it. The following devices should be listed:
TP 770, 560X:
Crystal PnP Audio System CODEC
Crystal PnP Audio System Control Registers
Crystal PnP Audio System Joystick
Crystal PnP Audio System MPU-401 Compatible (this is generally disabled by default)
TP 380/385:
Crystal PnP Audio System CODEC/Joystick
Crystal PnP Audio System Control Registers
